Son assaults, kills mother with dumbbell after she asks him to stop exercising

Hyderabad: A 45-year-old woman was killed after being assaulted by her son at Sultan Bazar here on Monday.

The accused Konda Sudheer Kumar, 24, is said to be mentally unsound and had begun taking treatment from a private hospital near Koti.

The incident took place at around t 2 am on Monday when the deceased identified as Konda Papamma asked Sudheer to stop exercising. Irked by this Sudheer assaulted his mother with a dumbbell. The woman died of the injuries while Sudheer’s sister Suchitra, sustained injuries while trying to save their mother from his assault.

Police are searching for the accused.

Police said that Sudheer was working as a delivery agent for a food delivery platform but had quit the job a year ago.
