Mumbai: Prime Video on Thursday announced “Dahaad”, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah.
Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, “Dahaad” marks Sinha’s web series debut.
The show is backed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and Kagti’s production house Tiger Baby.
Sinha, who plays a cop named Anjali Bhati in “Dahaad”, said it was one the best characters she has played in her career.
“The experience has been amazing working with Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby and the directors have been two pillars of strength. And the character of Anjali Bhati is one of the best characters that I have played,” she said.
Shah said he is “thrilled” that the streamer has finally made the announcement about “Dahaad”.
“It’s been a pretty crazy ride, in terms of the rapid physical transformation I had to undergo for my role as a cop right after ‘Maharani’. And as always, super excited to come back to OTT. I hope Amazon Prime Video audiences love every bit of it,” he said in a statement.
