Sowjanya rape and murder case: Sri Manjunatha Swami devotees association rally at Ujire

Several people from across the state united in their pursuit of justice for the late student, Sowjanya, who was raped and killed nearly eleven years ago near Dharmasthala.

In a massive gathering initiated in front of the Ujire Sri Janardana Swami temple, members of Akhila Karnataka Sri Manjunatha Swami  bhaktavranda including several others urged to punish the true culprits responsible for the heinous crime.

The demonstrators also persevered to demand justice for Dr. Virendra Heggade and the sanctity of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.

Following the protest meeting, the devotees will submit a request to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah through the Collector, urging a thorough investigation and resolution of the decade-long unsolved case.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. L.H. Manjaynath, Chief Executive Officer of S.K.D.R.D.P., emphasized that this gathering represents the collective pain and suffering endured for decades.

Prominent personalities and leaders present at the convention included Members of Legislative Council K. Pratap Simha Naik and K. Harish Kumar, Ujire Janardana Swamy Temple Administrator Sharath Krishna Paduvetnaya, Former Minister Abhay Chandra Jain, Jana Jagruti Vedike State President Rajanna Koravi, Taluk President Khasim Mallige Mane, and Former President Sharada Rai, among others.
