Special Pink Autos to Serve Women, Children in Bengaluru from Jan 2018

Bengaluru: As many as 400 pink auto rickshaws (auto) are expected to reach the roads in the state capital from January 2018 onwards which specially reserved for women and children. The drivers of the three wheelers could be male or female.

A total of 400 autos will be distributed by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) very near future under its social welfare scheme and of which 20 percent will be designated as pink autos.

The pink autos will reach roads in January and as part of the pilot project and more autos will be added based on the response of the people. The pink auto buyers will get a subsidy of Rs 25000 per an auto. BBMP also seeks support from CSR initiatives for its pink auto project.
