Mangaluru/Dubai: SpiceJet passengers travelling from Dubai to Mangaluru were left stranded as their flight was finally cancelled after keeping them waiting for nearly 24 hours without giving any clear reason for the delay.

The passengers who were supposed to board SpiceJet flight SG 60 at 12.50 pm on Wednesday faced inconvenience as the airline kept them waiting and then cited technical issues for cancelling the flight.

To add to their woes, the airline did not offer taxi fare to the passengers to return to their homes or provide hotel accommodation. Passengers also complained that the airline only offered food, refreshments once in the entire period that they were stranded at the airport.

Pathetically the airline, passengers alleged, made no arrangements to accomodate them on other flights but asked them to collect the refund. As the next direct flight to Mangaluru was available only after two days, few of the passengers who had planned their leaves accordingly were subjected to mental agony as also monetary loss.

Notably, there have been several incidents in the past too where passengers have complaned about the apathy of the budget airline towards its fliers.
