Puttur: A thief managed to break into seven shops located on Bank Street in Uppinangady and steal various goods.
The series of thefts occurred in a similar manner, leading authorities to suspect that only one person was involved.
According to reports, the thief first gained entry into a gold and silver shop by breaking through the roof. However, they were unable to open the safe locker and only managed to steal some cash in the form of change from the drawer.
Following this, the thief moved on to a medical shop located nearby, where they stole a mobile phone. He then proceeded to break into a cloth store in the same building, making off with two bath towels.
The thief also targeted a hotel situated near Canara Bank, a furniture store, a general store, and a grocery store, taking whatever was available at each location. In the furniture shop, a high-priced watch was stolen.
Though the thief attempted to change the direction of the CCTV camera each time he entered a shop, his face was still clearly captured on the CCTV. The Uppinangady police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
