Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala set to host 51st annual free mass marriage for 201 couples

Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala is all set to host its 51st annual free mass marriage on May 3 and around 201 couples who have already registered will tie the knot. The wedding ceremony will be held at 6:40 pm.
Prior to the big day, on May 2, all the necessary documents will be checked and the brides will be provided with a saree and blouse while the grooms will receive a dhoti and shawl.
From 5 pm on May 3, the couples will take part in a grand procession around the temple before proceeding to the Amritavarshini hall, where the wedding ceremony will take place.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Virendra Heggade, Hemavathi V Hegde and Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa will distribute Mangalasutra to the brides and grooms during the ceremony. Following the ceremony, there will be a wedding dinner at Annapurna Bhojanalaya.
Speaking about the significance of the mass wedding, Dr. Virendra Heggade said, “We started the free mass marriage ceremony in 1972. The ceremony has been held every year since then, and as many as 12,576 couples have been married till last year. They are now leading a happy and peaceful life.”
