Sri Lankan PM Wickremesinghe offers prayer at Kollur

Kundpaur: Srilankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe arrived at Kollur Shree Mookambika Shrine here at 11 am to offer special pooja to the Goddess. He is accompanied by his wife Dr Maithri Wickremesinghe.
Wickremesinghe first arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport left for Kollur in a special helicopter of the Airforce which landed at the Areshiroor Helipad at 10.30 am. At the helipad, he was welcomed by DC Priyanka Mary Francis and Dr Sanjeev M Patil Superintendent of Police Udupi district and other dignitaries. From there he travelled by car to reach the shrine.
Wickremesinghe received a traditional “Purna Kumbha” welcome at the entrance of the Temple.
Later he participated in the “Mangalarti” ritual at the Temple. He also participated in a “Chandika Homa” and offered the “Purnahuti” at the “Homa Kunda”.
Security arrangements were beefed up in the temple town ahead of the visit. All shops in the temple square and close by were asked to remain shut during the visit.
