Udupi:  Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Sripada of the Pejavara Matha led a padayatra on Sunday, commencing from Udupi Sri Krishna Math and culminating at Nilavara Goshala.

Accompanied by over three hundred disciples and devotees, the spiritual journey was marked by insightful discourse on the essence of leading a life steeped in penance and selflessness.

During the padayatra,  Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha emphasized the importance of embracing a life of penance, likening the daily struggles to the ‘heat’ one endures in pursuing personal desires. He stressed the need for individuals to adopt a sattvic mindset, characterized by pure thoughts, righteous actions, and unwavering devotion to God, to transcend self-centered pursuits.

The spiritual leader articulated that experiences, such as padayatras, immersion in Bhagavad Bhakti, and exploration of nature foster sattva, help us lead to an expanded consciousness. He highlighted the significance of visiting pilgrimage sites, encountering diverse lifestyles, and fostering sattvic awareness as a means to develop a holistic perspective, fostering desires not just for personal growth but also for the betterment of society.

Reflecting on the past thirty-five years, Pejavara Sri acknowledged the relentless pilgrimage undertaken by devotees and their disciples, encompassing hundreds of sacred sites across the nation. This continuous endeavor has served as a catalyst for spiritual evolution and the cultivation of selfless intentions for the greater good, he said.
