Sringeri: Unidentified persons flee without paying after filling petrol worth Rs 3000

Chikkamagaluru: Several persons in a car fled without paying after filling tank with petrol worth Rs 3000 at a petrol station on the outskirts of Sringeri town on July 8.
The incident was caught on CCTV cameras installed on the premises.
The unidentified fraudsters, believed to be part of a gang, came in a Swift car without any number plates. After filling petrol at the HP petrol station they escaped without paying. They reportedly did not stop at the Tanikodu check post.
The gang is suspected to be involved in cattle theft. Bajrang Dal alleged that a cow was stolen in the same Swift car near Bidaragodu in Sringeri. They demanded stern action against the accused.
