Sriramulu unhappy with BSY’s decision to make Sudhakar the sole minister for health

Bengaluru: After Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa decided to replace health minister B Sriramulu with colleague and Covid-19 affairs minister K Sudhakar as the new health minister, the Ballari strongman has expressed his resentment at the sudden snatching away of the health department.
However, in return, to placate Sriramulu Chief Minister has been given the charge of the social welfare department (SWD) to him which was vested with deputy chief minister Govind Karjol.
As per sources, Sriramulu has confessed to some of his close aides that changes should not have been made at a time when the coronavirus issue is still haunting the state. He feels that change in the department could have been affected once the pandemic problem eased and this decision of the chief minister might send a signal to the people of the state that he was inefficient in handling his department.
Sriramulu is likely to take up the issue with the chief minister shortly.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the lack of coordination between the ministers in the Yediyurappa government had led to a series of setbacks for Karnataka’s fight against Covid-19.
While, initially, Sriramulu and Sudhakar were asked to co-ordinate in their fight and even formed a ministerial task force under the health minister, the move did not provide any respite.
It may be recalled that when Sriramulu had sought the social welfare department in the past, it was not given to him, however, now this department has been given to him all of a sudden.
