Udupi: SSLC exams will be commence state wide from Mar 21st and conclude o Apr 4th. Udupi district has stood first position in the past two years and is trying its best to come first for the third consecutive time and thus achieve a hat-trick.
The district was ready for this record from beginning of the year. It had planned to conduct one hour additional class every day from July to December and complete all the lessons. Coaching classes were conducted from January to March. Amidst this, additional one hour classes in the evening for solution teaching were conducted since October. At some schools, the teachers voluntarily taught lessons for more than an hour.
After the October exam, group discussion were held on how to achieve 10o marks based on that question paper. After this exam, preparation was conducted on how to achieve 100% marks based on the preparatory exams being conducted on the school, district and state level. In this attempt, preparations were conducted by mixing the intelligent and those mediocre abilities. Few of the less able students sometimes find it hard to identify which question came from which lesson. Such students were first made to write down the entire question paper and then were given the attempt to answer the paper. Even though the answers were written by seeing, the guideline of the attempt was that the student would still gain a little understanding.
Inspiration camp
This year, an inspiration camp was conducted for the students who lagged in studies. In the camp, the concerned students were trained on how to face examinations and ho to prioritize the sequence of answering the questions. Recently, the students belonging to the Koraga community were brought together and provided a week’s training on examination. They were also given a special training on how to increase their capacity to face an exam.
Slow decline of student numbers
In Udupi district, 14,880, 14,315, 14,309 students have attempted the exams in 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively and this year, 14,214 students have registered for the exams. As per this statistics, it is noticed that the number of students attempting the exams is on a rate of decline.
