SSLC results out: Kodagu district falls to 22nd position

Madikeri: SSLC results have been published and Kodagu district which was in the 18th position last year has dropped to the 22nd position this year.
Jagrati Subbayya and Shravani of Kalatmadka Lions High School in Gonikoppalu and St Joseph school in Somwarpet respectively have scored 616 and achieved the first position in the district.
Kodagu district which achieved a result of 78.81% this time had achieved a result og 80368% in 2018.
Of the 6,444 candidates who appeared for the exams, 5,087 have passed. Of the 3,079 male students 2,383 have passed while of the 3,365 female students, 2,705 managed to pass, informed the Deputy Director of the Public Education Department.
Students who achieved the first four positions
Jagrati Subbayya and Shravani of Kalatmadka Lions High School in Gonikoppalu and St Joseph school in Somwarpet respectively have scored 616, A H Kavana of Sacred Heart High School in Shanivarasante has scored 615, B Apeksha and H K Chinmu of Choudlu Sandhipani High School have scored 612, K A Ananya, D R Shivani of Lions High School in Gonikoppa and Fathima High School in Kushalnagar respectively have scored 612 and P L Mouna and K P Ananya of St Joseph High School Madikeri and Lions High School Gonikoppa respectively have scored 611.
Overall, considering the pass percentage taluk-wise, Rajapete has achieved 84.64%, Madikeri 73.85% and Somwarpet has achieved 68.18%, informs the Deputy Director of the Public Education Department.
The result of government school is 72.54%, aided school is 74.28% and that of unaided school is 87.64%. There are 47 government high schools, 48 aided schools and 67 unaided schools. 6,444 students had attempted SSLC exams this years of which, 5,087 managed to pass.
Reason for the fall
The holidays provided during the last years natural calamity that struck the district may have affected the results, feels Macchado, Deputy Director of the Public Education Department.
100% result
20 schools in the district have achieved 100% results of which 7 are government schools, 3 aided schools and 10 unaided schools. The Kannada and English mediums have achieved 69.26% and 89.05% results.
