Ullal: The condition of Deeksha, who was stabbed multiple time at Bagambila near Deralakatte and presently under treatment at Kshema hospital here is still critical. The accused Sushant is being provided treatment under protection and is recovering. The police suspect that the motive behind the crime is love failure.

Deeksha (22) was residing in Karkala and pursuing MBA at a private college ere. On Friday evening, she returned back to her hometown, alighted from the bus near Kshema hospital in Deralakatte and was on her way to her house at Bagambila when Sushant arrived on a scooter, waylaid her and stabbed her 12 times. The incident occurred just a few meters away from her parental home. The accused later assumed to commit suicide by taking the knife to his neck. Son, hospital staffs and locals rushed to the spot and shifted both the injured to the hospital.

Sushant is a rowdy-sheeter

Sushant used to participate in small level fights and was a friend of Japan Manga alias Rajesh’s friend. He was the bike-boy who chauffeured for Rajesh during the stabbing and fighting that broke out at the court premises against Subhash Padil and his gang, who was accused of carrying out the 2016 home stay attack. Post the incident he was arrested and incarcerated. On this occasion, rowdy-sheet was opened against Sushanth on this occasion. Even after the incident, Deeksha maintained a distance from him and it is said that, because of this, he started to harass her.

Immediate response of Kshema doctors

Doctors of various divisions strived continuously to normalize Deeksha’s condition after being admitted in a seriously injured state. Nitte college students, Deeksha’s relatives and locals provided blood to her. The necessary operations have been conducted and she is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU.

Friendship at dance classes

Sushanth used to go to colleges to teach break dance and had choreographed Deeksha’s dance. it is said that this led to the friendship between them.

After she left to Karkala for her PG education, for some reason their relationship soured. A few months back, Sushanth went to Karkala in a friend’s car to visit her and kept forcing her to sit in the car and hence a case in this connection was registered at Karkala Women’s police station. The cops brought his to the station and made him sign a written statement in the presence of his parents. It is assumed that this was the very reason he had planned to murder Deeksha.

Clue in WhatsApp

Before arriving to the location to commit the murder, Sushanth had changed his WhatsApp status giving clue to his action. In the afternoon around 12:09 pm, he had changed his status to “Love you Deechu… Miss you Baba.. Love you lot” and added a photo in which both of them were together. Later, he smoked some weed and then waited for her arrival at the bus stop in Deralakatte. Not knowing his being there, Deeksha alighted from the bus and was on her way home when he carried out his attack.

Deeksha’s body has suffered a major shock after suffering several stab wounds, and the specialist doctors at the hospital successfully completed the necessary surgeries in good time. The next 48 to 72 hours are vital and the doctors will be observing her round-the-clock at the ICU – Dr Naresh Rai, One of the doctors who treated Deeksha

Rowdy-sheet had been opened against Sushanth at Bunder police station in connection to the assault that had occurred at the court premises. The case is still under investigation in the court. A case has been booked against him at Karkala police station in connection to the girl student – Hanumantharaya, DCP, Mangaluru Commissionerate
