State Agri dept gets ‘Challenging Star’ Darshan on board to inspire wannabe farmers

Bengaluru: The state government selected Challenging Star Darshan to be the brand ambassador of the Karnataka Agriculture Department to inspire wannabe farmers to take up farming, this decision was taken at a time when the Central and State governments are facing flak from farmers over the farm laws.

The actor, who is himself into farming, agreed to be the ambassador for the department’s programmes without taking any remuneration from the government.

Agriculture Minister BC Patil said that he himself discussed with the department about the ambassadorship.

The process was formally set in motion on Saturday, January 30 as the Agriculture Commissioner wrote to the Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Department, requesting issuing an order appointing the actor as the department’s ambassador.
