Bengaluru: The State’s three Road Transport Corporations have finalised two contractors to operate its own courier services.

A Hyderabad-based company and a Bengaluru-based company has been signed on for the software and business operations, respectively, of the new service.

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) and North East Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) have been facing huge losses due to the COVID-19-induced lockdown. The new courier service is to assuage some of their financial distresses.

According to officials in the KSRTC, the courier should start in less than a month and will be delivering parcels, letters and documents across the State and the neighbouring States of Maharashtra and Goa.
