Stern action against those disrupting social harmony through social media: Mangaluru Police

Mangaluru Police have issued a stern warning to individuals posting comments or sharing content on social media platforms that touch upon religious issues or pose a threat to communal harmony.
City Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain, in a press statement, said that stern action will be taken against activities disrupting social harmony.
It has been noticed that there are increasing circulation of messages pertaining to religious matters and those endangering communal harmony on popular platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and others. Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate has already initiated investigations into 21 cases related to such messages, Jain added.
The Commissioner further emphasized that all police stations and social media cells within the city are diligently monitoring individuals who engage in posting, sharing, or commenting on these sensitive topics.
Commissioner Jain also warned that severe legal action would be taken against repeat offenders.
