Stones pelted at a church in Manjeshwar

Kasaragod: Some miscreants reportedly pelted stones at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Manjeshwar late on Sunday night, August 18 and the incident came to light only on the morning of Monday, August 19. Apparently two bike borne miscreants are said to be involved in the attack.
The video of the dastardly act has been captured by the CCTV cameras installed at the church premises. The video reveals one of the miscreants entered the compound of the church armed with stones in his hands and pelting the stones at the church. Both the miscreants wore helmets when they came to hurl stones. The window panes of the front portion of the church are damaged in the attack.
Following the incident, large number of Catholic faithful gathered in the church compound. Manjeshwar police visited the spot, registered a case and are conducting investigation.
It is worth noting that the sand mafia gang had attacked a couple identified as Felix D’Souza and Rita D’Souza in Manjeshwar on the afternoon of Sunday, August 18. Grievously injured Rita is presently being treated in a hospital at Mangaluru.
Amidst the on the couple, stones were reportedly hurled at the church.
