Stress wreaks havoc on your emotional stability, as well as your physical health. It narrows your ability to think clearly, function effectively, and enjoy life

Negative stress can keep you from feeling and performing your best,  mentally, physically and emotionally. However, no one’s life is completely stress-free but it is  important to know how to manage stress in your life.

11 ways to manage stress

1.Always try to identify your stress as it brings you one step closer to manage your stress. Take time to sit and think about the cause and come up with a solution.

2.Regular exercise and physical activity are necessary to maintain good health and is also a great and healthy way to manage stress. It is said that it will reduce some of the emotional intensity that you are feeling, clearing your thoughts

3.Do what you love in your free time like painting, reading a book etc. It helps you divert your mind and also lets you think calmly about your problems

4.Spend time with friends, family, and people you enjoy. It would be better if you share your thoughts to atleast one person as it  helps in clearing your mind and also come up with better solutions.

5.Try to find a balance between work and family life, social activities and solitary pursuits and daily responsibilities

6.Usually stress occurs due to our urge to be perfect and our fear of accepting failures. This is classified as avoidable stress. Always Set reasonable standards for yourself and makes sure that you do not get disappointed which will lead to stress.

7.Stress levels and a proper diet are closely related as when we are stressed we often forget to eat well and resort to using sugary, fatty snack foods. Try to avoid sugary snacks and eat more  of Fruits and vegetables

8.Avoid caffeine as much as possible and drink green tea as it has less than half the caffeine of coffee and contains healthy antioxidants and theanine, an amino acid that has a calming effect on the nervous system.

9.Look for the positives in life, and things for which you are grateful. Try writing down 3 things that went well, or for which you are grateful, at the end of every day.

10.Although stress leads to lack of sleep and it can also be a cause of stress sometimes.  to get good amount of sleep by listening to calming sounds or drinking warm milk before bed.

11.Practice meditation and Yoga as it activates a state of restfulness that counterbalances your body’s hormones
