Stressed due to lockdown? Iceland offers people to record screams, country to release it over loudspeakers

Amid Covid-19 lockdown, there has been a steady rise in mental health issues mostly due to the built up frustration and tensions. Now, Iceland’s tourist board comes with an innovative idea which is encouraging people to scream to relieve pent up frustration. Screaming out loud often works out as a good release when you are angry or frustrated

It is asking people to send their screams after recording it on their phones following which the country will play the recordings on remotely-located speakers in open spaces.

On its website, the ‘Let it out’ campaign said, “Screaming allows your amygdala to release the stress stored there and move forward”

As of now, seven speakers have been placed around the quieter areas of the country. The scream sounds that are recorded on the website are then played through one of the seven speakers
