Stringent measures in Bengaluru post Aug 15: R Ashoka

Bengaluru: Revenue Minister and in charge of pandemic management in Bengaluru R Ashok, on Monday, said that stringent measures will be in place after August 15 to prevent a possible third wave of Covid-19.

Speaking to the reporters, Ashoka said, “There won’t be any change to the existing relaxations until August 15. Decisions will be taken based on the evolving situation. The vaccination rate in the city is good and we hope it will reduce the number of hospitalizations and deaths in the city.”

Also, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will launch a programme involving doctors making door-to-door visits. Two teams per constituency will be sent for door-to-door health check-up along with the doctors.
