Student from Haveri killed in Ukraine’s Kharkiv

New Delhi / Bengaluru: A student from Karnataka has been killed in Russian shelling in Ukraine’s Kharkiv, reports said.
It is gathered that Naveen Shekarappa Gyanagoudar of Chalageri village in Haveri, who had come out to fetch breakfast on Tuesday morning, died due to the shelling by Russia. Naveen was studying for MBBS in Kharkiv when the Russian troops attacked Ukraine.
The Ministry of External Affairs had tweeted that an Indian student was killed in shelling in Kharkiv city of war-hit Ukraine on Tuesday morning. ”With profound sorrow, we confirm that an Indian student lost his life in shelling in Kharkiv this morning,” it tweeted.
The ministry said it is in touch with the family of the student. ”We convey our deepest condolences to the family,” it said.
