Student stabbed at college premises

Kundapur: A student suffered grievous injuries after he was stabbed at college premises as a result of a fight that broke out at Junior college in Kundapur on Thursday, November 29. The injured student is identified as Anoop Sherigar (17), son of Arun Sherigar a resident of Uppinakudru and a second year arts student. It is learnt that Yama alias Mithun stabbed him near the college.
It is supposed that an old rivalry is the reason behind the attack.
Anoop and Pavan along with other students had involved in a fight few months ago in the college. A complaint was also registered at Kundapur station. It is alleged that following the fight, Pavan and his group used to threaten Anoop.
Apparently, Pavan had asked his friend Mithun to finish him off and the latter was waiting for a right opportunity to commit the crime. On Thursday, while Anoop and his friends were entering the college, accused Mithun brutally stabbed Anoop and bolted off.The severely injured Anoop is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kundapur. Additional SP Kumaraswamy has visited the location and a case has been registered with Kundapur police.
