Students’ abused and attacked by student leader, arrested

Puttur: A six months old video clip showing a student leader of a college here assaulting two students in filmy style on two different occasions and verbally abusing them, has become viral on social media.

The district superintendent of police, who noticed this video, directed the town police to take actions resulting in the arrest of the youngster (now alumni) for enquiry purposes.

The arrested person has been identified as Ajay Shetty from Kallimar. The police are in the process of extracting the facts of the two incidents from the attacker.

It is said that the incident t took place in December last. The video clip depicts Ajay Shetty, a college student then, thrashing and hurling abuses at the two students on different occasions in the campus area of a college here. The video emerged after being streamed on the social media recently.

The police are at a gridlock in the investigation failing to get the names of the victims in the attack as Ajay Shetty refuses to divulge information on the incidents. The investigation is ongoing.
