Kings XI Punjab’s skipper KL Rahul was caught swearing at his own teammates in Kannada during the match against Delhi Capitals on Sunday.
Stump mics picked up Rahul saying ‘Mundhe baaro lo**a’, at the outfielders asking them to move forward to restrict the run chase by Delhi Capitals in the first-ever super over of this season’s IPL.
Despite a good knock by Mayank Agarwal (89 off 60 balls), KXIP faltered towards the end, and both the teams finished with identical scores of 157 for 8.
With Delhi Capitals requiring only three runs to win the super over, a frustrated Rahul was heard hurling abuse at the outfielders and this later went viral on social media.
Comedian Danish Sait was among several those who shared memes about K L Rahul ‘s slip of the tongue’ moment. Reacting to an Instagram post of Rahul Sait commented, ‘Mundhe baa…Golden words KL. Love you.’
Apart from Rahul, three other KXIP players – Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair or Krishnappa Gowtham – know Kannada hence it is being speculated that the abuse was directed at them.
