Subrahmanya: A herd of wild Indian bison (gaur) has been sighted roaming in areas of Vishnu Nagar in the Kenya Village for the past few days, creating panic among locals. A few people have been attacked but fortunately, none were hurt.

A few days ago, Panja CA Bank Vice President Raghunath Rai Kerekodi was attacked by the heard of about 10 bison when he was passing by the area on a two-wheeler. He escaped unhurt.

Meanwhile, locals have complained to the Panja Forest Department about the wild bison wandering in the area.

The personnel from the forest department have been deployed in the mornings and evenings during the commute time of students.

A team of forest officials are collecting information by visiting the local homes. It is expected that the department will take action to drive the bison herd back into the forest soon.
