Sullia: In the backdrops of a public complaint and a video of an official receiving bribe going viral, a team of ACB officials conducted a raid at the Sub-Registrar’s office here and seized cash and documents.
Various documents were examined from afternoon 1pm to 8pm in the night. The documents and cash of Rs 13,850 found during the operations were seized by the officials.
Based on the complaint filed with ACB by Guruprasad from Panja regarding the management of the office, an FIR was submitted, search warrant was procured from the court and the operation was conducted under the guidance of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) SP Uma Prashanth and leadership of Inspectors Yogish Kumar, Mohan and team comprising of Radhakrishna K, Hariprasad, Umesh, Radhakrishna D A, Prashanth, Vaishali, Rakesh, Ganesh and others.
Cash, documents seized
Based on the complaint and the bribe case, inspection of documents continued until night. On this occasion, cash was discovered at the office and the officials conducted investigation regarding its source. A video shot a few days back regarding an official pestering a customer for bribe had gone viral on social media post which, the said official was sent on a compulsory holiday. The ACB raid followed soon after.
