Police have apprehended five individuals related to the unfortunate suicide of Aishwarya, who was the wife of the son of Dairy Rich Icecream’s owner.
Among the arrested are Aishwarya’s husband, Rajesh, and members of her in-laws’ family, including her father-in-law, Giriappa, mother-in-law, Seetha, brother-in-law, Vijaya, and his wife, Tasmai.
The arrests were made following a complaint filed by Aishwarya’s mother with the Govindarajanagar police in Bengaluru.
Aishwarya had married Rajesh, Giriappa’s son, five years ago and had successfully completed her MBA in the United States. The marriage proposal was facilitated by Aishwarya’s uncle, Ravindra, who worked as an auditor at Dairy Rich Ice Cream. Notably, the families had been embroiled in a property dispute.
Allegations arose that Ravindra, seeking to further his own interests, attempted to tarnish Aishwarya’s image within the family. In a tragic turn of events, Aishwarya reportedly endured harassment from her husband and in-laws, particularly in relation to dowry demands. Consequently, she returned to her parents’ home three weeks before her life was tragically cut short on October 26. Before taking such a drastic step, she left behind a poignant death note.
Authorities have registered cases against Ravindra, Geetha, Shalini, and Omprakash for their alleged roles in instigating the harassment.
