A banner featuring an image of Sri Rama was maliciously torn off near the private bus stand Sullia. The banner was installed in anticipation of the upcoming Sullia Jatrotsava, Ayodhya Sri Ram Mandir inauguartion, and the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Sullia Taluk Auto Rickshaw Drivers Association BMS.
It is suspected that the act occurred Jan 5, just three days after the banner was set up. Sullia Police swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. The auto-rickshaw drivers and organization leaders gathered, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible for the vandalism.
Expressing their condemnation, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and MLA Bhagirathi Murulya voiced their concerns over the incident. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel contacted the District Superintendent of Police, urging the swift arrest of the culprits. MLA Bhagirathi Murulya communicated with the circle inspectors, emphasizing the need to curb any forces attempting to disrupt societal peace. Both leaders demanded the immediate identification and arrest of the individuals involved in the banner tearing incident.
