Sullia: Murder in school premises; Accused arrested

Police officials have arrested the suspect involved in the murder case at Kantamangala School in Ajjavara village, Sullia taluk.
The arrested individual is Uday Kumar Nayak (35) from Edamangala in Kadaba taluk. The victim, Vasant (45) from Virajpet, was fatally attacked with a stone on Sunday night. The incident came to light on Monday morning.
Vasanth was introduced to Uday Kumar in a bar, which led to a tragic event later that night. Uday and Vasanth arrived at Kanthamangala by auto-rickshaw and decided to sleep in the school veranda. During the night, Uday noticed that Vasanth had Rs. 800 with him. Driven by greed, Uday attacked Vasanth with a stone, killing him on the spot. After committing the murder, Uday fled the scene in the morning with Vasanth’s money and mobile phone.
The local police initiated an investigation immediately after the crime was reported. Under the guidance of SP Rishyanth C.B., ASP Rajendra D.S., and Puttur DSP Arun Nagegowda, the police team successfully apprehended the suspect.
