Sullia police have appealed to the public for help in locating an accused who escaped police custody. The man, identified as Koli Karan from Tamil Nadu, had been wanted in connection with a theft case in Kallugundi, Sullia, that took place a few years ago.
Despite a warrant being issued against him, the accused had been evading court appearances. On Saturday, the police arrested him and took him for a medical check-up at Sullia Government Hospital before he was to be presented in court. However, during the medical examination, the accused managed to flee from custody.
Despite extensive searches conducted late into the night, no trace of the accused was found. The police released his photograph to the public and requested that anyone with information about his whereabouts come forward and assist in his apprehension.
The search for the accused is ongoing, with police urging the public to cooperate in locating him.
