Sullia: Village officer caught accepting bribe, arrested

Sullia: A Village administrative officer (Village Accountant) was caught accepting a bribe by Lokayukta police on Saturday, August 19.
Lokayukta police arrested the officer, identified as Miyasab Mulla, at his office in Aranthodu village of the Taluk.
Mulla had reportedly demanded a bribe of Rs 8,000 to dispose of an application submitted by Hariprasad, a resident of Arathodu Village. He had received Rs 3000. He was trapped by Lokayukta police when he was accepting the pending Rs 5,000 from Hariprasad.
Police said that Hariprasad had filed the complaint two days ago. Accordingly, the officials who registered the case conducted an operation.
Meanwhile, the arrested officer was produced before the court.
