Summer Showers Very Likely to Continue for Five More Days in Karnataka: IMD

Bengaluru: Summer showers are very likely to continue for five more days amid monsoon rainy season prepares to enter Karnataka by June 02, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) in the wake of summer rains reported in the various parts of the state in the last 48 hours. 

Heavy rainfall activities reported at Bagalkot, Bellary, Gadag, Vijayapura, Uttara Kannada accompanied by thunder storms. Normal life of the people reportedly disrupted in many districts following unexpected summer showers. A 12 year old boy, Bhima was died after a big stone fell on his residence from nearby hill in Bellary as soil got moisture due to rains. 

A 22 year old pregnant lady, Sufiya died while other two injured after they were hit by heavy lightening at Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district. In Bagalkot, 9 year old girl, Deepa Kademane killed after her house collapsed on her at night while sleeping. Houses and buildings in Chitradurga damaged following thunder storms accompanied by rainfall on Sunday.
