New Delhi/Bengaluru: The strained, high-voltage hearing on the Karnataka emergency in the Supreme Court today saw lighter minutes when a judge cited an social media joke that the proprietor of a resort where the Congress-JD(S) legislator were squatted has also staked claim to form government saying he had 117 MLAs.
Justice A K Sikri said “On a lighter vein, I must say that I saw a message circulated on the social media in which a resort owner wrote a letter to the Governor for formation of government saying he has the support of 117 MLAs,”
Those present in the stick pressed court number six burst into giggling when the judge shared his moment of coming across this funny stuff on the Whatsapp.
Justice Sikri was clearly alluding to Congress-JD(S) MLAs remaining at the Eagleton Resort in Bengaluru.
