Surathkal: A dangerous pothole, formed due to incomplete concrete work at the highway junction in Surathkal, caused an accident on June 26, injuring a scooter rider.
The frustrated rider immediately parked his vehicle in the pothole and staged a spontaneous protest.
Most people try to avoid the pothole, but the injured rider not only protested but also warned other motorists about the danger.
At the time of the incident, a traffic ASI and constable were nearby, reportedly busy issuing fines for traffic violations.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents about the safety and maintenance of the roads.
The public questioned, “Will the junction work ever be completed? Will action only be taken after someone gets seriously hurt?”, and demanded an answer from the people’s representatives.
