Surathkal: Lions Club Prez loses life in road accident

Surathkal: President of Lions Club Surathkal chapter Ramesh Kumar, 68, lost his life in a tragic road accident on Sunday.

The accident occurred on the National Highway near the Axis Bank in Surathkal.

Ramesh Kumar was moving towards Idya from Surthkal junction riding a motorbike when a car coming from Mangaluru rammed the two-wheeler.

Seriously injured, Ramesh was rushed to a hospital but passed away without responding to treatment, sources said.

Ramesh had served as the secretary of Lions Seva Trust. Active in social circles, he was also a LIC agent for a long time. He was also the treasurer of the Surthkal Idya Billava sangha. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
