Surathkal: Missing woman’s footwear found near lake; suspected to have drowned

Surathkal: A married woman who was missing from her home since Monday is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping into a lake near her house.

Pushpa (40), a resident of Puchchadi near Sorinje here had recently returned from Mumbai.

Her footwear was found near the lake raising the suspicion that she might have jumped into the lake to commit suicide.

Fire department personnel have already started a search operation in the lake but have been slowed down due to the heavy rains.
