Surathkal: Plans for lighthouse redevelopment approved

Surathkal: Plans to redevelop the lighthouse here and make it into a tourist attraction has been approved said local MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Kateel stated that the Union Minister of Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya has sanctioned the redevelopment works recently.
The works including building a connectivity bridge to the lighthouse, landscaping and play area, photo gallery, new lighting, a cabin lift etc.
The Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships is finalising the designs after which a tender for the works will be floated, Kateel said.
