Surathkal: There has been a renewed outcry against the toll gate at NITK on National Highway-66.
Protests gathered at the toll gate on Monday, demanding the dismantling of the “illegally” erected tollgate. “There are two toll gates ten kilometres apart and should the fee be paid on both sides?” the protesters expressed outrage.
Either shut the NITK toll gate or allow free passage to those who pay toll at Hejamady, the protestors demanded.
Local associations, tempo, taxi unions, lorry, tipper, bus owners association organizations, and public and social workers have joined the ongoing dharna protest led by Asif Apatbandhava near the NITK toll gate since Monday morning.
