Bengaluru/Surathkal: According to data with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Surathkal toll plaza saw a record 70 per cent of vehicles transacting using FASTag rather than cash payments.
Toll plaza at Kagnoli, Dharwad accounted 69 percent transaction through FASTag and 66 per cent was seen at Nagarhalla, Kalaburagi. Almost 60 percent of all transaction at toll plazas in Karnataka is through FASTags.
Toll plazas in Bengaluru are seeing goo FASTag transactions. The toll plaza at Sadahalli saw 59 percent transactions and the elevated one at Electronics City saw 60 FASTags transactions.
Bengaluru’s Doddakarenahalli, Hoskote, Attibele, Bellur, Bengaluru-Nelamangala toll plazas along with the earlier mentioned Sadahalli and Electronics City toll plazas were exempted from 100 percent FASTag transaction due to longer traffic wait-times.
However, after February 14 only two or three lanes will be allowed at these toll plazas for cash transactions.
