Suratkal: Assault on youth; Five arrested

Suratkal: Police officials have arrested five persons in connection with the brutal assault case in Suratkal.

The arrested accused are Mohammed Sharoz Charu (24), Mohammed Mustafa Appu (22), Abdul Amin (19), Siddique Samad (25) and Mahmoud Noufil (18).

A 29-year-old youth had sustained serious injuries after being assaulted by a gang of five persons at Katipalla here on February 1 night.

The victim identified as Mohammed Anas has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.

It is said that Charu and Ravoof held a grudge against Anas who was acting as a middleman and asking them to leave their rented premises.

Suratkal police registered a case and investigation is underway.
