Surathkal: Revenue inspector caught accepting bribe

Surathkal: A revenue inspector from Mulki was caught red-handed by Lokayukta police near Surathkal Junction on Thursday, December 19, while accepting a bribe.
The inspector in question is GS Dinesh. He had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 4 lakh to include heirs’ names in property records related to inheritance.
Unwilling to pay a bribe for a legally mandated government service, the complainant reported the matter to the Mangalore Lokayukta police station. Acting on the complaint, Lokayukta officials conducted a raid on Thursday morning and apprehended the accused while he was receiving the bribe.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Karnataka Lokayukta Superintendent of Police (Mangalore Division) M.A. Nataraj, with the participation of Deputy Superintendent of Police Dr. Gana P. Kumar, Inspector Amanullah A., and officers Suresh Kumar P., Chandrashekhar K.N., along with other staff members.
The Lokayukta police have taken the revenue inspector into custody for further investigation.
