Swiggy has been facing flak on Twitter for reposting a meme shared by an IPL fan ahead of the Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders match on Tuesday, April 13.
The tweet by Swiggy showed a photoshopped MI skipper Rohit Sharma reaching out for food at a ‘Vada pav’ stall. Swiggy wrote, “Haters will say it’s photoshopped.”
The tweet caught the attention of Sharma fans, who criticized Swiggy for ‘disrespecting’ the cricketer. Following this, #BoycottSwiggy became the top trending hashtag on the platform today, on April 14.
Below is how the fans reacted to Swiggy’s tweet:
Disrespect to National Player and India's Vice Captain is unacceptable, would never ever buy food from @swiggy_in, will choose @zomatoin instead👍

These are all keyboard warriors with too much free time on their hands. Ready to boycott anyone just because other s mentality isn't the same as theirs.
