SWR may delink B’luru-Karwar/Kannur train

Mangaluru: The Railway Board seems to have planned to delink the combined Bengaluru-Kannur/Karwar-Bengaluru (16511/12-16513/14) trains with the Karwar section bypassing Mangaluru via Padil.

A formal announcement regarding this is yet to be released.

The trains might be delinked at Subrahmanya Road. The Karwar section may get 10 compartments and the Kannur section 13 or 14 compartments.

Rail passengers are however not completely happy with this development as they have been demanding a new express service between Bengaluru and Karwar.

South Western Railway had stated that they cannot run new trains because of the restrictive 55km ghat stretch between Subrahmanya Road and Sakleshpur.
