Table, chairs, carpets for DCM’s office cost RS 20 lakh

Bengaluru: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has been cutting funds for events like the Hampi Utsav citing drought reason but has sanctioned Rs 70 lakh for the renovation works of the chamber of Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara, out of which a sum of Rs 20 lakhs has been spent on procuring table, chairs and carpets.
It is gathered that exactly a month after Parameshwara took charge as Deputy Chief Minister in May 2018, the government had sanctioned Rs 70 lakh to renovate his chambers at Vidhana Soudha and order for the various renovation works to be taken up at Room Nos. 327 and 328, was issued on June 26, 2018.
Rs 20 lakh was spent on purchase of a table, chairs and carpets, said sources in PWD.
