Taliban kills reputed Afghan folk singer

Kabul: Taliban militants killed a folk singer in Afghanistan’s Andarab region, a report stated.
Former Afghan minister Massoud Andarabi’s was quoted by the local Asvaka News Agency in a tweet.

In the past, the Taliban were known for their attacks on musicians and artists.
Recently, the Taliban had asserted that music was banned in Islam.
Afghanis have been trying to escape the Islamist group’s rule after it captured power in Afghanistan on August 15.
The Taliban have now also sealed Kabul airport just as the deadline of August 31 which the US army had imposed on its withdrawal, was approaching.
Additional forces have been deployed by the Taliban around the airport and additional check posts have also been constructed on the routes to the airport.
In the wake of a series of recent blasts near the Kabul airport, all countries have rapidly completed the evacuation process of their citizens.
On Saturday last flights from several countries took off from Kabul.
