Taranga’s Dr UB Rajalakshmi chosen for Karnataka Rajyotsava awards

Bengaluru: Dr. UB Rajalakshmi, the editor of Taranga weekly magazine has been selected for the prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsava awards.

Dr. UB Rajalakshmi has over 38 years of experience in the field of Journalism. She joined the Taranga Magazine team in the year 1987 and is currently serving as the editor of the magazine.

She was also the first woman to be awarded a D.Litt degree by the Hampi Kannada University for her thesis ‘A Qualitative Study of Features in Selected Kannada Weeklies’.

Her area of expertise includes Bharatanatyam, Carnatic classical music, theater, among others.

Expressing happiness at being selected for the prestigious award, Rajalakshmi thanked Dr Sandhya Pai, managing editor, Taranga Weekly, the board members, her co-workers as well as the readers, authors of Taranga magazine. “I dedicate this award to the then editor Santhosh Kumar Gulwadi and my mother Late Vanajakshi,” she added.
