Indians on an average drink 2-3 cups of tea every day. It is the most popular way to kick start one’s day in many Indian household. But, is tea good or bad for your health?

Well, speaking of tea one must keep in mind, researchers say that even if tea has numerous health benefits adding milk to it wipes off most of the benefits.

However, Researchers have claimed that drinking tea can reduce the chances of developing type 2 diabetes by up to 25 per cent if three or four cups are consumed a day.

Green tea is considered to have the most health benefits of any type of tea. It said that it is a preventive for heart disease and cancer, an acne cure and even a mouthwash.

But, Green tea and Black tea contains a small amount of caffeine and it is unsuitable for people with caffeine sensitivity. Also, certain compounds in tea may cause nausea, especially when consumed in large quantities or on an empty stomach.

However, the amount of caffeine is small and makes tea a healthier alternative to coffee. So, overall tea isn’t bad for you until consumed in small quantities.
