Teacher beats up student for failing to solve Maths sum

Hassan: A class four student who failed to understand and solve a Mathematics question was allegedly beaten up by his teacher at Government primary school in Uddur village of Holenarasipur taluk.

The teacher is identified as Vishvanath. He had allegedly beaten up Bharath Kumar, with a stick, when the latter failed to solve a multiplication question.

Following the incident, Bharath was severe injuries on his back, hands and right leg. The teacher also abused Bharath with foul language, informed sources.

A complaint was filed by the boy’s father, a former member of Gram Panchayat, Sangappa to the Block Education Officer.

Sangappa in his complaint informed that the teacher has hit his son severely.

He further added that after the incident Bharath was down with fever and refused to go to the school.
