September 5 is celebrated as Teachers’ Day and Google has dedicated a doodle to honour efforts taken by teachers all across India
The doodle shows a number of objects like a painting kit, a planet, mathematical symbols, a ruler, a book and a bulb. These objects are associated with subjects like mathematics, science, arts, among others.
In India, Teachers’ Day has been observed since 1962 on September 5. The birth anniversary of Dr S Radhakrishnan marks the day to celebrate teachers of India. He was one of the greatest teachers of his time.
Radhakrishnan was a professor before joining politics. He taught at various universities. He also served as vice-chancellor of Banaras Hindu University, Delhi University and Andhra Pradesh University. Besides, he taught at Oxford University for several years.
On Twitter, Google India shared the doodle with a message to thank all teachers. The company tweeted, “Raising our hands to say #HappyTeachersDay with today’s #GoogleDoodle. Thank you for making sure that learning continues, even as classes changed from seats to screens”
